What would you do as a Surgical Technologist?

As a Surgical Technologist at the EYE CLINIC OF WISCONSIN, you play a pivotal role in the surgical team, working under the guidance of skilled surgeons to provide exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for facilitating the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is meticulously maintained for optimal safety. Your expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, alongside a thorough understanding of human anatomy and surgical procedures, enables you to maximize patient safety and comfort. What you need to be successful

To excel as a Surgical Technologist at EYE CLINIC OF WISCONSIN, you must possess a robust skill set that ensures the highest quality of patient care during surgical procedures. Proficiency in handling instruments, supplies, and equipment is essential, as is a thorough understanding of the surgical procedures being performed to anticipate the surgeon's needs effectively. You should be adept at maintaining a sterile field while carrying out a variety of technical tasks, such as setting up sterile tables with instruments and supplies, performing counts before and after procedures, and draping the sterile field.

Strong organizational skills will aid in checking equipment and managing inventory, while meticulous attention to detail allows for accurate record-keeping and proper specimen care. Additionally, you will collaborate with other team members to maintain the operating room's readiness, ensuring that both the surgical team and patients receive the highest standard of care throughout each operation.

Work Conditions:

Work is generally performed at the main clinic; 800 First Street, Wausau, WI. Travel to satellite locations or outreach hospitals/surgery centers is required as needed. Hours of work will be dependent on the needs of the Clinic. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting (30 pounds), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs is required.
