Senior Aircraft Painter

Location: Savannah, GA
Schedule: Weekdays | Third Shift, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant
Pay Rate: 32.19 per hour
Role Summary
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire an experienced Senior Aircraft Painter. In this critical role, you will independently prepare, paint, and detail aircraft to exacting quality and safety standards. Your craftsmanship will directly impact the appearance, protection, and overall quality of finished aircraft delivered to customers around the world.
What You’ll Do

Safely prepare, paint, and detail aircraft under minimal supervision while meeting schedule and quality requirements

Coordinate with supervision and inspection teams to ensure compliance with internal procedures and FAA documentation and sign-offs

Act on behalf of the Lead when needed and provide guidance, instruction, and support to other painters

Promote high standards of quality by setting a strong example and mentoring team members

Operate and maintain paint shop tools and equipment, including dual action sanders, paint sprayers, and hydraulic lift platforms

Use sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety requirements

Maintain accurate records using the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off completed work

Assist with aircraft movement within hangars

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share ideas to enhance paint operations

Comply with all safety rules, identify unsafe conditions, and take action to protect people and property
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
-
Minimum of 4 years of related paint process experience

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation

Advanced knowledge of paint processes and products, including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics

Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification

Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work third shift

Computer literacy
-
Thorough understanding of paint operations procedures and manuals

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications

Aircraft industry paint experience
-
Experience mentoring or providing work direction to other painters

Familiarity with material tracking and quality documentation systems

Pay Details: 32.19 per hour
