About the job
The Chemical Lab Technician is responsible for conducting chemical and ultra-pure water (UPW)
analysis, monitoring production chemical systems, maintaining laboratory equipment, and
supporting wastewater treatment processes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product
quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient laboratory operations within a cleanroom environment.
We're looking for someone who
● Holds an Associate's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related science field
● Has 2–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience performing wet chemistry analysis and
operating laboratory instrumentation
● Has experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom environment
● Is knowledgeable in chemical testing, wastewater treatment, and regulated chemical
disposal
● Understands ultra-pure water (UPW) systems and water purification methods
● Is experienced with laboratory equipment such as ICP-OES, AAS, pH meters, balances,
turbidity meters, and particle counters
● Can accurately analyze, document, and interpret laboratory data
● Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
● Works well in a cross-functional team environment
● Follows safety procedures and maintains compliance in laboratory and cleanroom settings
What you'll do
● Perform chemical analysis on production chemical holding tanks to verify control limits
● Conduct testing using laboratory instruments including ICP-OES, AAS, pH meters,
balances, turbidity meters, ultrasonic meters, and related equipment
● Perform trace metal analysis and verify chemical purity before and after tank releases
● Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to confirm chemical concentration and quality
● Record and trend laboratory data using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
● Analyze ultra-pure water (UPW) to verify resistivity, pH, acidity, alkalinity, and
contamination levels
● Perform wastewater testing, treatment, and regulated release in accordance with
environmental requirements
● Conduct Liquid Particle Counter (LPC) and Non-Volatile Residue (NVR) testing and prepare
reports
● Maintain calibration records, certificates, repair logs, and equipment documentation
● Monitor cleanroom environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, and particle
counts
● Maintain controlled documentation, SOP training records, and laboratory compliance
● Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to support operational
goals
Physical requirements
● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
● Must be able to work safely in a laboratory and cleanroom environment while wearing
required personal protective equipment (PPE)
● Must be able to perform repetitive laboratory tasks requiring attention to detail
