A pharmacist position is available in Independence, MO, with an immediate start for a 13-week contract. This role involves working the night shift in a hospital setting, providing essential pharmaceutical services during hours of approximately 9 pm to 7 am on a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule. This opportunity suits professionals holding a Missouri pharmacist license and possessing prior hospital experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervising pharmacy technicians during the shift
- Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient care
- Consulting and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal medication therapy
- Utilizing Meditech and Pyxis systems for daily operations
The night shift team typically includes one pharmacist and two pharmacy technicians, ensuring comprehensive pharmaceutical coverage and patient safety. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
