Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support a school community by serving as a dedicated paraprofessional in a full-time, contract role supporting a 1:1 student at an elementary school in Blue Springs, Missouri. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a student who may exhibit aggressive behaviors, requiring comfort and experience in behavior management and supportive care, including toileting assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to a student with behavioral challenges during the school day (8:30 AM 3:55 PM).
- Implement behavior intervention strategies with attention to safety and positive reinforcement.
- Assist with daily activities and toileting as needed.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure the students needs are met effectively.
- Participate in required training such as MANDT or CPI for handling aggressive behaviors safely.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active paraprofessional certification or active substitute paraprofessional certification preferred.
- Experience working with students demonstrating challenging behaviors.
- Previous behavior experience is highly valued.
- MANDT or CPI training preferred or willingness to complete prior to or shortly after hire.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check promptly.
- Comfort and capability in working with toileting needs.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with school staff and remote interview processes.
Location and Schedule:
- Position is located at an elementary school in the Blue Springs area of Missouri.
- Contract dates begin approximately April 6th through May 28th.
- Full school day hours, 8:30 AM to 3:55 PM.
