Pharmacy Supervisor reports to the Pharmacist In Charge. His/her role is to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for InfuCare Rx’s; dispenses prescribed medications; provides functional supervision of professional, paraprofessional, and support staff; and performs related duties as required. Additional responsibilities include oversight of Infusion services, sterile preparations, and compounding. To provide support to InfuCare Rx business by compiling data for departments to help them complete their missions.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; ensures legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy operations.
  • Overseas daily pharmacy operations of Home Infusion/Specialty Pharmacy in conjunction with Pharmacist in Charge.
  • Work in collaboration with the Pharmacist in Charge to schedule, train and perform performance evaluations on staff.
  • Participates/assists in procurement of drugs, supplies and equipment used in preparing and administering drugs.
  • Monitor and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in recruitment and hiring of potential new pharmacy operations personnel.
  • Will provide functional supervision to professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in their respective pharmacy, including training, assigning duties, and providing input for performance evaluations.
  • Documents and reports of medication errors to direct supervisor. Facilitates error reduction and prevention methods based off errors and ISMP standards.
  • Will act in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and with the highest ethical standards that we consistently strive to achieve. Legal and ethical compliance is an essential duty of each employee.
  • Quality reporting as needed.
  • Will serve as a designated person for all sterile compounding activities, if applicable.
  • Active participant in the Performance Improvement Committee.
  • Oversee pharmacists and technicians.
  • Serves and protects Pharmacy by adhering to professional standards, company policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and URAC/ACHC standard of care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain state pharmacy license.

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited (Council on Pharmaceutical Education) college of Pharmacy.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Management experience.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a clean room or infusion pharmacy.
  • Highly proficient in computer skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and resource management skills.
  • A problem solver, proven leadership experience, ability to translate broad goals into achievable steps, must deal effectively with people.
  • Ability to manage complex and changing calendars.
  • Ability to interact effectively and courteously with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and meet established or anticipated deadlines.
  • Ability to take on a wide range of duties and projects and prioritize appropriately.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
  • Create a safe, effective environment and professionalism.

Physical Demands:

Required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear; required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment; must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
