Job DescriptionThe role involves investigating complaints, managing stray or dangerous animals, and maintaining animal holding areas. Responsibilities
- Patrol the city and respond to animal nuisances, complaints, and code violations
- Investigate reports of animal abuse, bites, and potential rabies cases
- Trap, transport, quarantine, and euthanize animals as required
- Educate the public about animal care ordinances and responsible pet ownership
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in holding facilities and vehicles
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience handling animals or in a related field
- Must complete Animal Control Officer Basic Training within six (6) months of hire
- Valid Texas Class C driver’s license
- Must obtain a Certified Euthanasia Technician license within six (6) months of hire
