Position Overview
The Physical Therapist (PT) delivers direct rehabilitation services to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (BSPT, MSPT, or DPT; those graduating in 2003 or later must hold an MSPT or DPT)
- Current registration or licensure in the relevant state, with an obligation to maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
- Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply
- CPR certification required upon hiring or to be obtained during orientation; must remain current throughout employment
Job Responsibilities
- Engage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
- Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs
- Exhibit proper body mechanics consistently
- Make independent decisions when necessary
- Understand and comply with practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care setting
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
- Adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training
Core Duties
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans for patients
- Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, and functional goals
- Supervise and assess care provided by PTAs, Rehabilitation Aides, and PT and PTA students
- Document care accurately and in a timely manner
- Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
- Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
- Employ reasoning skills and sound judgment in decision-making
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Engage in various physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout the workday
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
