Position Overview

The Physical Therapist (PT) delivers direct rehabilitation services to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (BSPT, MSPT, or DPT; those graduating in 2003 or later must hold an MSPT or DPT)
  • Current registration or licensure in the relevant state, with an obligation to maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
  • Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • CPR certification required upon hiring or to be obtained during orientation; must remain current throughout employment

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs
  • Exhibit proper body mechanics consistently
  • Make independent decisions when necessary
  • Understand and comply with practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care setting
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
  • Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
  • Adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
  • Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training

Core Duties

  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans for patients
  • Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, and functional goals
  • Supervise and assess care provided by PTAs, Rehabilitation Aides, and PT and PTA students
  • Document care accurately and in a timely manner
  • Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
  • Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
  • Employ reasoning skills and sound judgment in decision-making
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in various physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout the workday
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
