POSITION TITLE: Human Resource Assistant
STATUS: Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
PROGRAM: Administration
SUPERVISOR: Human Resource Generalist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant at Elderly and Disabled Services is a critical contributor to the effectiveness of the organization’s HR operations and the cultivation of a positive work environment. This position provides comprehensive administrative, clerical, and operational support, ensuring the seamless functioning of all HR processes. Key responsibilities include maintaining confidential employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding activities, supporting payroll and benefits administration, and serving as the initial point of contact for staff inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion in handling sensitive information, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service to both staff and job candidates.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or the equivalent required; an associate’s degree in human resources or business is preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in human resources or administration.
Customer services experience preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate employee files, update HRIS, and manage sensitive documentation with strict confidentiality.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Post job openings, assist with resume screening, participate in interviews as needed, prepare offer letters, coordinate and facilitate onboarding, and orientation.
Employee Relations: Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day employee questions regarding policies, benefits, procedures, timecards, and related matters.
Payroll:
Assist in the preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll.
Benefits:
Support employees through the benefits enrollment process.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Familiarity with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems preferred.
Communication & Organization:
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while upholding professionalism and confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending, stooping, lifting, or reaching as required.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and handle paperwork.
Visual acuity for reading documents, computer screens, and observing facility operations.
Ability to navigate the facility, including stairs and corridors as necessary.
Effective hearing and verbal communication skills for interactions with staff, clients, and administrative personnel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standard office environment with occasional local travel.

$22.00 - $24.00 Per Hour

Monday - Friday, 20 Hours Per Week
