Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Inpatient Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at a high-volume acute care hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. This 815-bed facility provides prehensive inpatient services and is known for its advanced care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
This is a 13-week contract position.Pharmacists with flexibility in scheduling and a strong background in clinical hospital pharmacy are encouraged to apply.
Position Overview:

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 13 weeks, with possible extension

Shifts Available: Variable day and afternoon shifts (8-hour shifts)

Facility Type: Acute care hospital
Key Responsibilities:

Review, interpret, and verify medication orders for appropriateness and accuracy

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy

Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and distribution

Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and therapeutic drug monitoring (e.g., vanycin, aminoglycosides)

Ensure pliance with hospital protocols, state/federal regulations, and clinical guidelines

Participate in clinical rounds as needed and respond to drug information inquiries

Perform sterile pounding (IV preparation) and oversee medication safety procedures

Utilize systems such as Pyxis, EPIC, and other EMRs to manage workflow
Requirements:

Active North Carolina Pharmacist License (unrestricted)

PharmD or BS in Pharmacy

Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient hospital experience (mid to large-sized hospitals preferred)

Proficient in using EMR systems (EPIC experience is a plus)

Strong munication and clinical decision-making skills
