Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours guaranteed weekly (option for 48 hours upon request)
- 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Three weekends per six-week schedule
- Every other holiday
- Flexibility to float within campus and neighboring facilities with advance notice
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to trauma, orthopedic, and neuro patients, including those with complex injuries and postoperative needs
- Perform strong neuro assessments; log roll patients and apply assistive devices (back brace, immobilizer)
- Demonstrate proficiency in Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, PIV insertion, and stepdown care
- Promote a positive learning environment, precepting students and new hires as needed
- Collaborate efficiently during intra-campus float assignments
- Prioritize patient safety, evidence-based care, and effective communication
Qualifications/Experience:
- Active compact RN license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least one year in ortho/neuro/trauma & one travel assignment
- Trauma level II background
- Recent EPIC charting experience
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and resilience required
- Willingness to support and mentor
