Position Description:

The Director of Ultrasound Production is overseeing and managing the MXR Ultrasound Repair operations including Parts, Probe and Portable repair and Equipment Sales. The Director provides direction and job assignments to personnel, manages workflow through the repair process, and establishes work processes and work procedures for the department. The Director of Ultrasound Production also ensures internal and external regulatory and Quality System compliance. In addition, the position provides inventory management and assists with engineering support and process improvement projects as required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives in the production environment; work collaboratively with internal personnel to identify and implement process improvements that result in improved parts and service delivery to our customers
  • Contribute information toward the development of production related return-on-investment models to meet division goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement cost saving targets to reduce material expenditures while maximizing product quality and supply integrity
  • Manage and direct daily repair operations of the transducer, parts and portable repair departments
  • Provide strong leadership by setting the example for the department
  • Retain, train, develop and motivate a skilled and talented organization that delivers superior service and production
  • Supervise and manage daily production output needs and insure production meets sale requirements
  • Work with inventory personnel to ensure all material requirements are met and stock levels meet sales needs
  • Develop and implement cost saving targets to reduce material expenditure while maximizing product quality and supply integrity
  • Provide new product support and support for issues with existing products
  • Assign work orders to appropriate technicians by skill level
  • Insure tooling, test equipment and other tools are maintained according to the maintenance schedule
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and MXR Quality Systems requirements and the accurate documentation and reporting of work orders
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or management preferred, AS or BS in electronics a plus


Experience

  • +7 years previous job related experience in medical devices or ultrasound industry knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or 13485 and FDA Quality System Regulation guidelines

  • Proficient with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, independent judgment, initiative, and self-management

  • Experience with hand tools such as pliers, diagonal cutters, screw drivers, wrenches etc.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

  • Able to work more than 40 hours, as needed
  • Ability to sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel: reach with hands and arms; balance; and twist, bend


Travel

  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license and solid driving record for a minimum of five years
  • Valid and continuous personal automobile insurance coverage at or exceeding the minimum requirements for coverage in the state where the employee resides; must be able to provide proof of auto insurance at any time upon request
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time
