Stipend Amount: Stipend of $3,675 total for the duration of the program(equivalent to approximately $17.50/hour)
Hours Per Week: 21 Hours
Location: Chicago
End Date: August 22, 2025
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Development Fundraising Intern will support the fundraising and donor engagement efforts of the Development team. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising strategy, donor communications, and campaign execution. The intern will assist in identifying funding opportunities, maintaining donor records, and supporting outreach efforts to strengthen donor relationships and increase philanthropic support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and donor appeals
- Conduct research on prospective donors, corporate sponsors, and grant opportunities
- Draft donor communications, including thank-you letters, stewardship updates, and campaign messaging
- Maintain and update donor databases and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge)
- Support the development of fundraising materials and digital content
- Track and analyze fundraising metrics and campaign performance
- Collaborate with the team to identify new fundraising strategies and engagement opportunities
- Provide administrative support including data entry, correspondence, and donor follow-up
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills
- Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, or philanthropy
- Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems is a plus
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will complete a final project that reflects their contributions and learning. This may include an event recap report, donor engagement strategy, or marketing campaign summary.
