Location: Anchorage, AK
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $76/hr (W2) | $81/hr (1099) Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join its dynamic interdisciplinary care team. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in a high-acuity environment, including Level 3/4 NICU and PICU. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in critical care respiratory therapy and be adept in managing complex ventilator modalities and emergency procedures.Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy to neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care plans based on physician orders and patient condition.
- Manage ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency oscillators, and jet ventilators.
- Administer respiratory medications and monitor effectiveness.
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and allied health staff across adult ICU, PICU, NICU, and Emergency settings.
- Respond to trauma activations, high-risk deliveries, and cardiac/respiratory emergencies.
- Document accurately using the Epic electronic medical record system.
Unit Overview:
- 28-bed Adult ICU
- 9-bed Pediatric ICU (PICU)
- 66-bed Level III NICU
- Level II Trauma Center for both adults and pediatrics
- Equipment includes: Draeger, Servo-I, 3100A/B, Jet ventilators
- Therapies include: HFNC, CPT, Nitric Oxide, Flolan, nebulizers
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Level 3 or 4 NICU or PICU experience (required)
- Experience in adult critical care and trauma settings strongly preferred
- Epic charting experience (preferred)
- Previous travel experience (not required)
Certifications (Required or Preferred):
- Required: BLS, CRT
- Preferred: ACLS, PALS, NRP, RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong ventilator troubleshooting and weaning skills
- Airway management, extubation, tracheostomy care
- Medication administration (e.g., Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Racemic Epinephrine)
- Proficiency with high-frequency ventilators and nitric oxide delivery systems
