Job DescriptionWeekend RN Position in Cardiac Medical ICU

This role is for a Registered Nurse focused on cardiac care within a Medical ICU environment, specifically on weekends. The responsibilities include delivering thorough patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patient confidentiality while following nursing standards and certifications. Applicants must possess a valid RN license along with essential certifications such as ACLS and BLS, and should be physically capable of performing demanding nursing tasks.

Utilizing our Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing processes, you will provide exceptional patient care. You will be professionally accountable for the care of your assigned patients and will coordinate with various departments to ensure comprehensive patient management while upholding patient rights and confidentiality.

Position Overview:

Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: It is the candidate's responsibility to secure and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience:

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.

Depending on the specific position or unit, the following certifications may be required or must be obtained within a designated timeframe:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
  • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
  • Other unit-specific certifications as necessary

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift.
  • Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job duties.
