Construction Manager - Baker, LA

Full Time

$36 - 48/hr + based on experience and certifications.

Monday-Friday 7 am-5 pm, Schedule varies based on construction needs.

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is seeking an experienced**Construction Manager **to overseehighway and road construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage field operations, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of roadway construction, and the ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of highway and road construction projects

• Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment usage

• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and DOT requirements

• Maintain project schedules and budgets

• Enforce safety regulations and company safety policies

• Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and project owners

• Review progress reports, change orders, and material deliveries

• Ensure quality control and resolve construction issues in the field

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Superintendent, or similar role

• Strong knowledge of roadway construction methods, materials, and equipment

• Familiarity with state and federal DOT standards

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license

• Knowledge using Oracle Primavera

• Must have Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) Certification

• Must be able to read plans and create and read spreadsheets in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on DOT-funded projects

• OSHA certification

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
