The Role
We are seeking an experienced Research Analyst to join a specialist market advisory team focused on commodities such as grains, fertilizers, and biofuels. This team delivers in-depth research, market intelligence, and advisory services to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
In this position, you will contribute to the Global Research function by analysing market developments, producing high-quality insights, and communicating complex trends in a clear and accessible way. You will work both independently and collaboratively to deliver a range of outputs, including written reports, presentations, and multimedia content.
You will also take ownership of key analytical tools and datasets, including global supply and demand forecasts, while supporting senior leadership with data-driven insights and strategic input.
This is a hybrid role based at a corporate office location in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse factors influencing commodity markets at local, regional, and global levels
- Develop and maintain analytical models, databases, and visual reporting tools
- Use data platforms and analytical technologies to enhance research capabilities
- Produce clear, insightful reports and briefings on market trends, policy developments, and structural changes
- Deliver presentations and contribute to webinars, events, and stakeholder engagements
- Support special research initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Attend relevant industry events and conferences when appropriate
Requirements
- Secondary education (high school level or equivalent)
- At least 7 years of experience in commodity market analysis or a related field
- Ability to obtain relevant industry certification (e.g. financial/commodity trading license) within a short timeframe
Preferred Background
- Degree in economics, agriculture, finance, business, statistics, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of commodity markets, agriculture, energy, or macroeconomic trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
- Demonstrated analytical capability, including experience with economic or statistical methods
- Experience working with data analysis tools and standard office software
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Experience presenting to a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders
