Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1+ years Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a vital role supporting student health as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a dynamic school setting near Fort Pierce, FL. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 care to an elementary student throughout the 2026–2027 academic year. Your expertise will make a meaningful difference every day in a supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active LPN nursing license
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Prior experience providing medical care to pediatric or school-aged children preferred
- Comfort and proficiency with tracheostomy care, suctioning, tube feeding, oxygen monitoring, and personal care assistance
- Ability to ride and supervise during daily bus transportation as part of the assignment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent, compassionate 1:1 care to an elementary student, including specialized medical tasks
- Support all aspects of the child’s health plan during the school day, on the bus, and at the designated pickup location in Fort Pierce
- Administer medications, perform suctioning, tube feeding, and monitor and manage oxygen needs as required
- Assist with toileting and personal hygiene
- Collaborate with school staff, educators, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and communication regarding the student’s well-being
- Maintain accurate and timely records in adherence to school and nursing standards
- Provide a safe, reassuring presence during daily bus rides to and from school
