A 467-bed Level II Trauma Center in Aventura is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead its 53-bed Behavioral Health unit. This advanced acute care facility is also certified as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.

This leadership role is responsible for the full 24/7 operational oversight of the Behavioral Health unit, managing a team of approximately 108 full-time equivalents, including registered nurses, behavioral health technicians, and clinical nurse coordinators. Reporting to the Director, the Nurse Manager plays a central role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care across the unit.

Key responsibilities include directing daily operations, overseeing staffing and scheduling, and guiding hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. The role focuses heavily on driving quality improvement initiatives, maintaining productivity standards, supporting fiscal responsibility, and advancing patient satisfaction goals. This leader also collaborates closely with hospital executives, physicians, and interdisciplinary stakeholders to ensure efficient operations and continuity of care.

A strong emphasis is placed on regulatory compliance, particularly adherence to Joint Commission standards and internal policies, while fostering a therapeutic and structured behavioral health environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida RN license or compact RN license meeting Florida eligibility requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required from an accredited school of nursing

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required within 90 days of hire

  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care Behavioral Health nursing experience required

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent full-time leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, or Nurse Manager level) in an acute care hospital setting
