Basic Purpose Summary:

WTB’s Water Transfer CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight. This position is responsible for building loads for deliveries and loading and unloading of oilfield equipment.

Characteristic Responsibilities:

  • Transport equipment to and from customer locations with medium duty flatbed trucks as well as semi tractors

  • Perform load-outs of equipment at the yard

  • Maintain a DOT electronic log and paper Bill of Ladings

  • Travel outside the immediate geographic area may be necessary and is not subject to refusal.

  • Rig up and rig down equipment, unloading and positioning equipment on location

Skill:

Requires common sense understanding of instructions in performing a series of routine procedures.

Requires no supervision from other employees.

Working Conditions:

Requires performing regular job assignments in an adverse working environment involving a variety of unpredictable elements or hazards, including exposure to injuries or hazardous materials which result in partial disability.

Physical Demands:

Requires medium to heavy work, including continuous physical exertion such as frequent bending, lifting, or climbing. Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.

Communication:

Requires explaining facts, interpreting situations, or advising individuals of alternative or appropriate courses of action. This level also requires interviewing or eliciting information from other employees or Customer representatives.

Independent Action:

Requires making a limited number of choices in selecting among alternative courses of action under supervisory guidance and in performing job functions according to a variety of prescribed policies or procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Highschool diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Class A CDL driving experience, flatbed driving experience preferred.

License/Certification: Class A CDL.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Ability to operate heavy equipment in difficult work demanding skill in operation. Working knowledge of uses and limitations of heavy-duty equipment. Knowledge of diesel-powered equipment, mechanical aptitude and understanding of complex equipment and technology applications for troubleshooting tasks. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to use sound judgement in evaluating situations under varying conditions. Maintain knowledge of rules and regulations for heavy equipment operation. Willingness to work under extreme weather conditions. Must be willing to maintain appearance and safety equipment standards appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities.
