Urban Ecospaces is a leading affordable housing development and construction firm dedicated to delivering high-quality, sustainable projects throughout New York City and surrounding areas. We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Site Supervisor to join our team.
This is an on-site field leadership role, principally in the residential construction sector, and is ideal for individuals with a passion for construction management, site supervision, and field coordination.
Position Overview:
The Construction Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, the ability to manage multiple trades, and coordination with subcontractors, consultants, and project teams.
This position is primarily based in Staten Island, NY.
Key Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Site Supervision & Project Management
Ensure the job site is properly opened at the start of the workday and securely closed at the end of the day.
Oversee daily activities on job sites, ensuring a managerial presence from start to finish.
Supervise and coordinate multiple trades, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project execution.
Develop and enforce an effective construction schedule, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate solutions to the project team.
Maintain strict compliance with project plans, specifications, and local building codes.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and ensure construction meets the highest standards.
Actively participate in weekly progress meetings.
Work closely with internal project management to ensure smooth project progression.
Safety & Field Operations
Conduct daily jobsite inspections to enforce adherence to OSHA regulations, municipal requirements, company safety practices, and PPE requirements.
Conduct and document "Toolbox Talks" and weekly safety meetings.
Maintain daily logs of site activities, including photos and reports for project documentation.
Ensure that subcontractors comply with safety protocols and take corrective action when necessary.
Field & Office Support
Compile and process daily labor timesheets and track subcontractor work progress.
Assist in preparing change orders, RFIs, and as-built documentation for review by the Project Manager.
Order and schedule material deliveries, ensuring on-time availability of resources.
Coordinate and assist with the pickup of materials from vendors and suppliers as needed to support project timelines and operational efficiency.
Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned based on project and company needs to ensure successful construction operations and overall business objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree in Construction Management or a related field (Preferred).
1-3 years of experience in a construction role (Internship or entry-level experience considered).
Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and time management abilities.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
Must have a car and be willing to travel to various job sites as needed.
Must have or be willing to obtain the NYC DOB SST 62-Hour Training Certification.
