Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in the Denver area (east side), this full-time Special Education position supports students from elementary through middle school across three classrooms at a single K-8 school. The role requires on-site presence Monday through Friday, providing direct instructional support to approximately 12 students per classroom in an inclusive and specialized learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with autism and other special education needs.
- Manage classroom activities and provide individualized support to students from elementary to middle school levels.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, effectively managing and guiding their contributions to student learning.
- Maintain compliance with state and district educational standards and individual education plans (IEPs).
- Participate in ongoing team meetings, progress monitoring, and parent conferences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Colorado Teaching License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement.
- Experience in classroom management and working with paraprofessionals.
- Familiarity with instructional strategies for students with autism.
- Availability to work full-time onsite, Monday to Friday.
- Experience range from entry-level to seasoned professionals will be considered.
Position Details:
- Assignment duration: January 7, 2026 through May 21, 2026.
- Hours per week: 37.5 hours.
- Location: On-site at one school in the Aurora Public Schools district.
- Contract position for the current school year.
- No virtual or hybrid arrangements; in-person work only.
