Production Manager (Supervisor II) – Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: North Los Angeles County, California
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager / VP of Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
-A well-established aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Production Manager (Supervisor II) to lead a designated portion of its manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet strict aerospace quality and performance standards while being produced on schedule and within budget.
-This position plays a key role in driving operational performance, leading production teams, and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time manufacturing operations.
- Develop and sustain processes that maximize utilization of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Implement and monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Partner with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations, including Lean and visual management systems.
- Standardize work instructions, tooling, and processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering.
- Identify and introduce capital equipment to improve efficiency and ROI.
- Support the development and monitoring of departmental budgets.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Lead hiring, mentoring, training, and performance management for production staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, HR, Finance, EH&S, Customer Service, Engineering, and R&D.
- Maintain strong communication across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership ability with experience motivating and developing production teams.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, automated scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience working closely with quality, manufacturing engineering, facilities, or materials functions.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong business acumen and customer interaction experience.
- Experience participating in continuous improvement or Lean initiatives.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline required.
- 1–2+ years of operations or manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
