Salary Range: $75,000 – $113,000 per year

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist performs radiation therapy procedures for ambulatory and hospital patients in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality radiation therapy procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow established standards and procedures to maintain imaging production and quality.
- Communicate effectively with patients using AIDET principles to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Educate and prepare patients and their families regarding the procedure to be performed.
- Properly position patients and adjust equipment for optimal imaging and patient safety.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by adhering to infection control, radiation, and safety protocols.
- Use sterile techniques and maintain hygiene standards during invasive procedures.
- Maintain equipment and workspace cleanliness and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Monitor and maintain supply inventory.
- Screen individuals entering the department to ensure safety compliance.
- Accurately document all relevant information including patient history, consent forms, and safety checks.
- Maintain and update medical imaging records according to department protocols.
Key Qualifications
- Certifications Required: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and TMB (Texas Medical Board).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
- Ability to perform procedures independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially under pressure.
- Capability to administer first aid and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous professional development.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including newborns to geriatric patients.
- Willingness to train and mentor new team members.
- Availability for on-call duties, if required.
