About the Role:
As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive experience from the moment they arrive. Your primary objective is to manage guest flow efficiently, ensuring timely seating and minimizing wait times while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. You will coordinate with the FOH to optimize table turnover and accommodate special requests or reservations. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve any guest concerns promptly. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute significantly to the overall satisfaction and retention of guests, enhancing the establishment's reputation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Basic proficiency with reservation and seating management systems.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and manage a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a host or in a similar front-of-house position.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Training in conflict resolution or customer service excellence.
- Knowledge of local dining trends and menu items.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression.
- Manage the reservation system and walk-in guest seating to optimize table availability.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and service flow.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and resolve any issues or complaints professionally.
- Maintain an organized and clean host station and waiting area.
Skills:
The required skills such as strong communication and organizational abilities are essential for managing guest interactions and coordinating seating efficiently throughout the shift. Proficiency with reservation and seating systems enables smooth operation and reduces wait times, enhancing guest satisfaction. Preferred skills like multilingualism and conflict resolution allow the host to address a wider range of guest needs and resolve issues diplomatically. Familiarity with POS and restaurant software supports seamless collaboration with other staff members and accurate record-keeping. Together, these skills ensure the host can maintain a welcoming environment while supporting the operational flow of the establishment.
Benefits:
Full time employees maintaining an average of 25 hours a week have an option to enroll in medical insurance and an HSA account while those who maintain 20 hours can choose to enroll in dental, vision, voluntary life, and pet Insurance. Employees are enrolled in the company’s 401k plan with an annual discretionary match after 500 hours of employment. Sick Leave is available for all front of house employees and accrued at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
