SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
What You'll Do
This full-time, permanent position in a manufacturing environment plays a critical role in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper.
The Accounts Payable position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks related to the processing of invoices, expense reports and vendor payments in accordance with established company procedures and accounting principles. Under minimal supervision, this role performs general bookkeeping functions, assists with monthly closings and annual reporting, and may provide limited payroll support. The position requires consistent interaction with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, verify data accuracy and maintain strong vendor relationships.
The ideal candidate is a reliable and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, accuracy, and integrity. They are proactive in resolving issues, skilled at managing multiple priorities and experienced in vendor relations and accounting best practices. Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, they demonstrate sound judgment, confidentiality and a commitment to excellence in all financial processes.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Review, verify and process invoices, purchase orders and payment requests for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Prepare and issue accounts payable checks and electronic payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and vendor records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances or discrepancies.
- Respond promptly and professionally to vendor and internal inquiries.
- Prepare and distribute invoice deduction or credit notices when necessary.
- Accrue monthly expenses and assist with journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Generate and analyze accounts payable reports and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash accounts.
- Assist with accounts receivable, payroll data entry and other special accounting projects as assigned.
- Enter payroll hours and verify time records in coordination with supervisors.
- Balance payroll reports, track hour adjustments and process payroll checks as required.
- Support compliance with financial controls, audit requirements and company policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
What You'll Need
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
