Computer and Information Research Scientist


B&A is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team supporting the U.S. Navy. With a long history of providing best-in-class service, we are looking for an Intermediate Computer and Information Research Scientist (CRSJ) with expertise in Navy Maintenance Systems. This role involves conducting research, developing solutions, and integrating IT applications to optimize maintenance systems supporting Navy operational, engineering, and sustainment environments.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in computer and information science as a theorist, designer, or solutions integrator.
  • Develop innovative solutions for challenges in computer hardware and software related to Navy Maintenance Systems.
  • Support program development, project execution, and technical/business operations across Navy sustainment environments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on PMS (Planned Maintenance System), 3M (Maintenance and Material Management) systems, and related Navy maintenance procedures.
  • Interpret and apply Navy’s Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) Manual to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Navy stakeholders on system integration, technical support, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve Navy maintenance system performance and reliability.

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, or a Technical Discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least five years within the last eight years supporting Navy 3M systems and PMS.

Required Skills

  • Active NAVSEA Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Level II or higher certification.
  • NAVSEA Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) backfit or higher certification.
  • Proven expertise in providing guidance and interpretation of Navy Maintenance and Material Management Manual.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

Desired Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Navy logistics, sustainment, and maintenance systems.
  • Experience supporting NAVSEA programs or ship maintenance initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement innovative IT solutions.
  • Familiarity with workforce training and development in Navy technical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional Navy and contractor teams.

Security Clearance

  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
