Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A special education teacher is sought to provide tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs in a school setting located in Trenton, NJ. This role involves working collaboratively with faculty, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic growth and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and modify individualized lesson plans that accommodate students varying abilities and learning styles
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust strategies to meet their evolving educational requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate outcomes effectively
- Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions
- Occasionally travel to different locations within the district as needed for training or student support
