A school district in Wilkes Barre, PA, is seeking dedicated paraprofessionals to support classroom activities and student learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional support and classroom management
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
- Support students' social and emotional development during the school day
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a related educational support role preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to help children succeed
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with teaching staff
- Compliance with state paraprofessional certification or willingness to obtain certification if required
