Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Lead impactful educational experiences as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, supporting students’ unique learning needs across multiple centers near Minneapolis, MN. This contract position offers a fulfilling opportunity for passionate professionals to make a lasting difference throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Beginning September 8, 2026, you will work with caseloads of 25-30 students, primarily those with visual impairments—many of whom may have additional behavioral or physical challenges. As part of a specialized team, you'll empower students to overcome barriers and thrive in diverse learning environments. Your commitment will be evenly split between 2-3 education centers, which serve as supportive hubs for children requiring enhanced educational and behavioral services.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction for students with visual impairments, addressing individual educational and adaptive needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Travel between multiple educational centers, adapting approaches to each unique setting.
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports, facilitating communication with families and colleagues.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in best practices for special education and vision support.
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusion in all academic and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with students who have visual impairments; background with setting 4 populations and students with severe behavioral or physical disabilities preferred.
  • Strong adaptability and organizational skills for a multi-site caseload.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to support travel assignments as needed.
