Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leadership opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations with a focus on compliance, quality patient care, and team management. This contract-to-hire position offers the chance to take charge of daily pharmacy functions and implement best practices within a supportive setting located in Quincy, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
- Oversee prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care activities
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
- Lead and support pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training
- Manage inventory levels to balance availability and minimize waste
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurers, and other stakeholders to resolve medication issues
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and complaints promptly
- Stay current on industry trends and regulatory updates, implementing changes as needed
- Drive quality improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and patient outcomes
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment with adherence to safety protocols
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Active and clear MA Pharmacist License
- 2-4 years of long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably within LTC settings
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, primarily day shifts with occasional evenings
- Weekend coverage as needed
