Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A leadership opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations with a focus on compliance, quality patient care, and team management. This contract-to-hire position offers the chance to take charge of daily pharmacy functions and implement best practices within a supportive setting located in Quincy, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care activities
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training
  • Manage inventory levels to balance availability and minimize waste
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurers, and other stakeholders to resolve medication issues
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and complaints promptly
  • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory updates, implementing changes as needed
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and patient outcomes
  • Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment with adherence to safety protocols

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Active and clear MA Pharmacist License
  • 2-4 years of long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience
  • Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably within LTC settings

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, primarily day shifts with occasional evenings
  • Weekend coverage as needed
