Our Account Managers are the face of Cogent—trusted advisors, relationship builders, and customer advocates. They manage loyal “house accounts” made up of repeat customers while expanding our footprint within hospital systems. This is a career for someone who thrives on client interaction, precise documentation, and seeing projects through from concept to completion.

We’re looking for an Account Manager with a background in project management or construction supervision. Mechanical aptitude or experience in environments involving IT, low-voltage, or construction trades is highly preferred. This role requires strong communication and coordination skills across both client and field teams.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing hospital clients.
• Expand customers’ knowledge of Cogent products & services.
• Respond to and manage customer requests while identifying new opportunities within existing accounts.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs and prepare proposals/quotes using Cogent software within profitability margins.
• Organize customer visits, presentations, and lunch & learns.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to both customers and internal teams.
• Ensure Cogent’s brand and value are clearly conveyed at all times.
• Maintain detailed, accurate records in our CRM (ConnectWise).
• Coordinate with marketing programs and contribute to company materials as needed.
• Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to promote our solutions.
• This is not an IT role in systems, software or engineering, analyst, etc

What You Bring

• 2+ years construction supervision experience (healthcare preferred). Workstation / medical cart knowledge and expert is a huge plus!
• 2+ years account management or B2B sales experience (healthcare preferred)
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, construction practices, or IT infrastructure installation is a strong plus
• Comfortable communicating with technicians, vendors, and clients in both field and office settings
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field (preferred).
• Proven success in face-to-face customer service and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of the sales process and project management principles.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Touch typing speed of 55+ WPM.
• Microsoft Office Suite and CRM proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
• Able to lift demonstration equipment (up to 60 lbs.) and walk extensively in hospital facilities.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 15% on a cyclical basis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and situational awareness in dynamic project environments
