Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program, modify, and optimize automation systems, including PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi) and related controls.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automated machinery, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motor controls, and electrical components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, equipment manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support automation upgrades and process improvements.
- Perform system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure reliable operation and compliance with performance requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date backups, documentation, and revision control for all automation and PLC programs.
- Assist with the installation, startup, and commissioning of new automated equipment and control systems.
- Follow and enforce all safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements during automation work.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, sensors, actuators, and motor controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field.
- Experience with robotics integration or motion control systems.
- Familiarity with safety PLCs and machine safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, ANSI B11).
- Knowledge of data acquisition and industrial networking.
