Position Overview
The Marketing & PR Specialist is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that promote The Arc New Mexicos mission, programs, and initiatives. This role manages branding and content across digital, print, and media platforms including website, social media, newsletters, press releases, and event collateral. The ideal candidate has strong design and writing skills, is highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented nonprofit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Public Relations & Communication Strategy
- Create and manage content for website, newsletters, press releases, and social media.
- Develop communications that support outreach to donors, individuals served, families, and the broader public.
- Draft and edit clear, compelling copy for various internal and external audiences.
- Assist in planning and promoting events and campaigns.
Branding & Design
- Design digital and print materials that align with The Arcs visual identity.
- Create branded templates and resources for organizational use.
- Oversee formatting and design consistency across communications.
Digital & Marketing Tools
- Maintain and update website content.
- Use platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, SurveyMonkey, and Microsoft Office to support campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
- Analyze communication metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with leadership to align communications with strategic goals.
- Provide creative support for program staff and leadership.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
What You Need to Succeed
Education & Experience
- Associates degree required; Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, public relations, nonprofit communications, or related fields.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong graphic design and layout skills (Adobe Suite, Canva).
- Excellent copywriting and editing ability across formats.
- Experience with media relations and stakeholder communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and content management tools.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Full-time, in-person position based in Albuquerque, NM.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours and minor travel may be required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs unassisted (40 lbs with assistance).
- Valid Drivers License & Background Check Required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000$65,000 depending on experience
- Benefits start the 1st of the month after 60 days and include:
