POSITION SUMMARY:

· The essential functions of the job for the Dining Director, requires, and may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of Viva Senior Living to include, but are not limited to the following:

· Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.

· Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED

· Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.

· In exigent circumstances, the employee may be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather,

evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).

· Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

· Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.

· Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.


RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Oversees the scheduling and management of the dining room and kitchen team.

· Maintains the purchasing of the Food Service department’s supplies and raw food, while operating within budgetary constraints.

· Will be expected to work on the line as needed.

· Oversee entire food service operations on a daily basis for all residents of Viva Senior Living with fresh, wholesome ingredients

· Establish and maintain systems and procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, garnishing, plating and serving of food related products in building

· Menu planning and development with the consultation of the Executive Director and Registered Dietician if necessary

· Must be able to create menus for a variety of Resident diet needs and preferences

· Able to instruct, demonstrate and assist in the kitchen aspect of the Food Service department while also managing and training dining room employees

· Coordinate schedule of all Food Service employees to fill the needs of community

· Maintain federal, state, and local Department of Health regulations at all times regarding sanitation and safety in all areas of the Food Service operations

· Interact and communicate with residents, families, and guests on a daily basis

· Coordinate and supervise all Food Service personnel regarding production, quantity, quality, cost control, labor hours with scheduling, employee training and orientation

· Maintain corrective actions while enforcing company policies and procedures

· Conduct on-going interviewing, hiring, orientation, on-going training, and termination of all Food and Beverage staff

· Conduct accurate monthly inventory, monthly spend down analysis, and tracking of all meals leaving kitchen and submitting these reports to the Support Center

· Conducting appropriate in-servicing with all Food and Beverage personnel

· Per meal service, track all residents coming down for meal service and receiving room service for attendance purposes and report missing residents to nursing department for part of their daily safety checks

· Facilitate strong working communication between all Food and Beverage personnel

· Facilitate strong working communication between Food and Beverage department and all other community departments

· Participate in strong working communication with all community directors

· Works closely with all community directors in planning and execution of all community events quality food as well as presentation

  • Perform other duties involved in food service operations as seen fit by you or supervisors

· Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

· Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

· Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

· Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.

· Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents

· Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

· May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
