Seasonal,Monday through Thursday;June 18th- August 21st;8:15 am to 4:45 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver culturally relevant and engaging curriculum;
- Oversee the safety of a group of high school-aged youth, following the set schedule to ensuretimelytransitions and regularly taking attendance to ensure all LITs are accounted for;
- Supervise LITs and use positive behavior guidance throughout the day, including transportation to and from field trips, during morning announcements, at lunch, and at allspecial events;
- IdentifyLITs who may needadditionalsupport,informingthe LIT coordinator and referring LITs to theappropriate leadership, including Youth and Family Support staff,in a timely mannerto ensure LITs have access to resources that will allow successful participation;
- Maintain cleanliness of all spaces, encouraging LITs to claim responsibility for their belongings and to have pride in the camps facilities;
- Serve as a positive role model for campers, Leaders in Training (LIT), and peers;
- Support the threemain areasof focus for the Leadership Academy; post-secondary planning, social emotionallearningand leadership development.
- Support the development and growth of a positive camp culture by providingadditionalsupport to LITs and colleagues as needed and at community-wide events, including, but not limited to, performances, lunch, and field trips; and
- Other dutiesthat support the Camp Harbor View communityas specified bythe Program Manager and year-round leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 20+ years of age;
- At least 1 year experience working with youth;
- Interest in youth development principles;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to be adaptable in a quickly changing environment;
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and coaching; and
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
