Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Position Overview
Euola is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services supporting Veterans at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. The technologist will perform nuclear medicine studies and ensure accurate diagnostic imaging for patient evaluation and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures including bone scans, cardiac stress imaging, thyroid scans, and GI bleed studies.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormalities to physicians.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure diagnostic usability.
- Maintain radiation safety standards and adhere to ALARA principles.
- Document procedures and patient data within the VA imaging systems.
- Prepare and transmit images through PACS for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain and operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) OR
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – RT(N).
- Active certification and unrestricted license in the United States.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 3 years of nuclear medicine experience.
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical preparation and imaging techniques.
- Experience with PACS and digital imaging systems.
- Experience in a hospital or VA healthcare environment. (preferred)
- Experience performing a variety of diagnostic nuclear medicine studies (preferred)
