OverviewWe are hiring a detail-oriented Administrative & Data Entry Assistant to support a seasonal fundraising campaign. This temporary role is ideal for someone who enjoys clerical work, accurate data entry, and handling donation-related tasks in a professional office environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily administrative and clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, donor correspondence, and phone communication.
- Prepare and process check deposits (copying checks, balancing batches, preparing deposit slips, endorsing checks).
- Work as part of a two-person deposit team following established financial procedures.
- Enter donations into the organization’s database and update donor information (address, email, phone, etc.).
- Contact donors regarding failed transactions (primarily credit cards) to obtain updated information.
- Answer and route phone calls related to ongoing fundraising appeals.
- Maintain strict confidentiality with donor and financial information.
- Support additional office tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven data entry skills with high accuracy; ability to type at least 60 WPM.
- Experience with check handling or deposit preparation preferred.
- Office administrative experience: nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with donor or CRM databases (Raiser’s Edge a plus).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual Spanish is a bonus.
Schedule: ~25 hours a week (2-3 days a week)
Compensation: $20.00 Hourly
