Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Medical Scheduler to join our radiology department in Rocklin, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure seamless operations. Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and schedule radiology appointments using electronic medical record systems like Cerner and other scheduling tools.
• Ensure all appointments are accurately booked, taking into account procedure requirements, provider availability, and patient preferences.
• Manage rescheduling requests, cancellations, and emergency procedures to maintain optimal scheduling efficiency.
• Input and maintain detailed patient information, appointment data, and procedure codes to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and collaborate with billing teams to ensure all procedures are covered appropriately.
• Communicate promptly with patients, referring physicians, and internal staff through written correspondence.
• Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards by adhering to departmental policies and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other department staff to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate with front desk and patient services teams to facilitate a seamless experience for patients on appointment days.• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in medical office administration is preferred.
• Previous experience as a medical scheduler, receptionist, or similar role within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with radiology procedures and terminology is a plus.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems like Cerner and other scheduling software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals effectively.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple appointments and records.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes and billing functions is advantageous.
