What it's like to be a Superintendent
As a Full-Time Superintendent at Green Leaf Construction, you will take the reins in developing efficient schedules and cost-effective plans that drive our projects to successful completion. Your role involves meticulous daily reporting, maintaining logs, and managing shop drawings, while you actively communicate performance and schedule issues to the Project Manager. You'll oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to our esteemed quality and ethical standards. Collaborating with a diverse team, coordinating work activities of tradespeople and professionals for seamless execution. Regular inspections will allow you to uphold the highest quality, and you'll prepare thorough progress reports for stakeholders.
By working closely with architects, engineers, and other crucial parties, you will ensure all specifications and regulations are met while adhering to GLC and OSHA safety protocols. Your ability to manage change in the field and authorize necessary documentation will be key to maintaining project momentum and achieving client satisfaction.
What we're looking for in a Superintendent
To thrive as a Full-Time Superintendent at Green Leaf Construction, you'll need a robust blend of experience and skills tailored for success in the fast-paced construction industry. With 7-10 years as a commercial superintendent, your expertise will shine through your excellent verbal and written communication abilities, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. The ability to work under pressure is essential as you oversee a diverse array of professionals, coordinating their tasks with precision and care. You must be detail-oriented, possessing the skills to read, understand, and execute complex blueprints and plans.
A deep understanding of legal requirements related to construction and quality building practices is critical, as is your knack for quickly identifying and solving problems. Proficiency in tools such as Procore, Excel, and Word further bolsters your effectiveness, while your commitment to enforcing GLC Safety Policies ensures a secure working environment for all.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- 7-10 years of experience as a commercial superintendent with Design-Build ground up experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- Ability to read understand and execute blueprints drawings and plans.
- Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
- Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
- Actively support; enforce GLC Safety Policies.
- Procore
- Excel and Word experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel.
