Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Newport News, VA, working within a K-12 school setting. This itinerant position spans four school sites, providing support to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role begins in August 2025, with possible orientation and training sessions scheduled for July 2025. The work schedule is approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and requires in-person attendance to effectively collaborate with staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students with diverse communication needs
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Provide direct therapy services across multiple school sites in an itinerant capacity
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
  • Participate in meetings, training, and professional development activities as required

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Virginia
  • Experience working with K-12 school-aged children in a school-based setting
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and evidence-based therapy techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites effectively and manage a caseload independently
  • Candidates with Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) credentials or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) experience are also encouraged to apply
