Commissioning Electrician

Job Summary
Join a dynamic team as a Commissioning Electrician dedicated to ensuring the flawless operation of mission-critical data center infrastructure. This pivotal role involves validating electrical systems, conducting load bank testing on UPS systems, and confirming that all critical equipment meets rigorous design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of data center construction projects, verifying adherence to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Conduct quality control testing on power, cooling, and fire suppression systems to certify operational readiness.
  • Document non-conformities accurately and collaborate with construction teams to implement effective corrective measures.
  • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring all systems operate as intended.
  • Execute testing procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of inspections, tests, and test results.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality assurance throughout the data center lifecycle.
  • Facilitate system transitions from construction, implement Lockout/Tagout protocols, and provide technical support during commissioning.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and contribute to the development of quality control programs for data center projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mission-critical or industrial construction, focusing on commissioning and start-up of new equipment, preferably within data centers.
  • Pay is 55/hr
  • Per diem/travel allowance of $6500 a month
  • Commissioning experience is a must
  • MUST have a journeyman or master license or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Single-Line Drawings and Blueprints.
  • Essential load banking expertise.
  • NFPA 70E certification is mandatory.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • Additional preferred qualifications include understanding of data center design principles, industry standards (such as Uptime Institute Tier Standards, BICSI), inspection procedures, and quality control testing methods.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms and relevant certifications like CDCP or OSHA 10/30 are advantageous.
