Cornerstone Dermatology & Surgery Group is a growing, privately owned dermatology practice located in Lee's Summit, MO. We have seven providers and that number continues to grow. We provide compassionate, expert medical, and surgical dermatology care in a comfortable office setting. We offer an excellent total compensation package. Position Summary
Cornerstone Dermatology & Surgery Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our busy dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will have prior dermatology experience, with Mohs micrographic surgery experience preferred, and a strong commitment to excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care and service
- Room patients, obtain and document histories, chief complaints, and vital signs.
- Assist providers with general dermatology exams and procedures (biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, etc.).
- Assist Mohs surgeon with pre-op setup, intra-op patient flow, and post-op care (Mohs experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate).
- Prepare, stock, and turn over exam and procedure rooms, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Perform clinical tasks such as suture removal and wound care per provider orders.
- Handle specimen labeling and preparation according to practice protocols.
- Provide patient education on wound care, procedures, and treatment plans.
- Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Support front office/phone triage as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Certified/Registered Medical Assistant credential (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) required.
- Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience in a clinical setting; dermatology experience strongly preferred.
- Mohs surgery assisting experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
