About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer with a strong background in IT documentation to support internal service operations. This full-time, on-site position will play a key role in creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical materials across multiple IT functions, particularly within the Service Desk and other technical teams. Occasional telework may be allowed with managerial approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including, but not limited to:
- Knowledge base articles and repositories
- Internal news articles and technical bulletins
- Process and procedure documents
- Online help guides and user manuals
- White papers, requirements documents, and use cases
- Documentation of issues escalated to Tier III and engineering personnel
- Collaborate with IT teams to gather source information and validate technical accuracy.
- Translate complex technical concepts into concise, easy-to-understand documentation for a variety of audiences.
- Maintain version control and document repository integrity.
- Ensure all documentation follows internal standards, formatting, and best practices.
- Focus solely on technical writing duties (no equipment deployment, conference room setup, or other IT support responsibilities).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of IT technical writing experience.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex information and present it clearly.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Visio
- Adobe Acrobat
- Experience using version control systems and maintaining structured document libraries.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of documentation standards and best practices.
Certification Requirements
Required:
- At least one (1) Intermediate-Level Industry Certification, such as:
- CompTIA Security+ (Sec+)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
Desired:
- One or more Higher-Level Certifications, such as:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
