General Overview
This person will be part of our Maintenance Team and assist with ongoing projects as well as routine maintenance. We are looking for an all-purpose handy person who loves learning how things work and can get them put back together better than they found it.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with other maintenance staff to complete ongoing projects.
• Assist with our robotic palletizing units.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment
• Change out motors, gear boxes, and elevator parts
• Climb ladders and platforms.
• Position and secure work piece, using hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools.
• Examines work piece for defects and measures work piece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Competent with tools, electrical, and welding equipment
• Knowledge of mechanics

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas.

Requirements

• Requires ability to operate mechanical equipment in a safe effective manner.
• Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
• Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
• Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures and dust. Appropriate safety equipment will be provided.
• Must be able to work Monday-Thursday from 6 AM - 4 PM and Friday 6 AM – 11 PM. Some weekends may be required, but will be given advanced notice.
• Must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from work for all scheduled shifts.
• Must follow all applicable Company policies, procedures, and directives including, without limitation, those related to safety.

Schedule and Compensation

- Full-time

- Hourly pay based on experience

- Vacation Days and Paid Holidays

- Provided all eligibility requirements as set forth in the controlling Plan Documents are satisfied, group health insurance is currently available for full-time employees only of Palmetto Vermiculite.
