\n\nCardiac OR Nursing Job Details\n

- Location: Youngstown, OH 44504 (Ohio healthcare jobs)\n
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks\n
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site\n
- Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday (8-hour shifts: 6:30am–3:00pm; 10-hour shifts: 6:30am–5:00pm; occasional 5:30am start)\n
- On-Call: 10–12 call shifts per 6-week schedule (includes 1–2 weekends and 1–2 days/week); 30-minute call turnaround (call rooms available)\n
- Hours per Week: 36–40\n
- Unit: 2 CVORs, including hybrid room for TAVRs\n
- Average Caseload: 2–6 cases daily; approx. 6 open-heart surgeries weekly\n
\n\nCVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications\n
- \n
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required for Ohio nursing jobs)\n
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)\n
- NIH Stroke Certification (required)\n
- Minimum 2 years cardiac OR experience, plus 1–2 years general OR experience\n
- Travel nursing experience preferred\n
- Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide provided)\n
- CNOR and PALS certifications preferred\n
- Ability to take on-call shifts and respond within 30 minutes\n
\n\nCVOR RN Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Provide patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation\n
- Coordinate and deliver care for cardiac and general surgical procedures (CABG, TAVRs, VATs, windows, and more)\n
- Circulate and assist in cardiac and general OR cases\n
- Administer medications safely per hospital policies\n
- Serve as a liaison for patient care coordination across departments\n
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives\n
- Deliver pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessments and discharge instructions\n
- Maintain sterile technique and anticipate surgical team needs\n
- Assist with equipment operation, documentation, and reprocessing (Endoscopy team if applicable)\n
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the surgical experience\n
