About the Role:
The Medical Assistant at Lone Tree Pediatrics plays a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to pediatric patients and their families. This position is responsible for supporting physicians and nursing staff by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth and efficient patient care. The Medical Assistant will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a compassionate and welcoming environment while accurately collecting medical histories and vital signs. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to assist in preparing patients for examinations, administering medications as directed, and maintaining accurate medical records. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and the operational success of the pediatric practice.
The Medical Assistant utilizes clinical skills daily to accurately measure and record vital signs, administer immunizations, and assist with examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing patient records, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Effective communication skills enable the Medical Assistant to interact compassionately with children and their families, explaining procedures and care instructions clearly. Proficiency with electronic health record systems streamlines documentation and coordination of care among the healthcare team. Additionally, problem-solving skills help the Medical Assistant adapt to the dynamic environment of a pediatric practice, addressing patient needs promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare pediatric patients and their families for examinations, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring environment.
- Record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during patient examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and support.
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and coordinating follow-up care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment to comply with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to facilitate clear understanding of care plans.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
- Some Medical Assistant experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent program (LPN, RN, EMT, C.N.A).
- Two years of hands-on Medical Assistant work experience can be accepted in lieu of educational requirements but must in Family Medicine or Pediatrics
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly pediatric-focused software.
- Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Strong knowledge of pediatric growth and development milestones.
- Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to better serve diverse patient populations.
- Demonstrated experience in patient education and family communication.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Salary: $21 - $27 / hour
