Job Summary: The Admissions Specialist role is responsible for facilitating the admissions process for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse and addiction. The role serves as the initial point of contact for potential clients and their families, guiding them through the admissions process, assessing their needs, and ensuring a smooth transition into treatment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine potential clients' eligibility for treatment.
- If the client does not qualify for services, then provide a referral for next steps.
- Educate potential clients and their families about our treatment programs, services, and admission requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule intake appointments for new clients, ensuring timely admissions.
- Make routine follow-up calls to support and monitor potential client's continued willingness to attend scheduled appointments, including the day prior to client's arrival.
- Collect and review necessary documentation, such as insurance information, medical records, and consent forms.
- Communicate with referral sources, such as healthcare providers, therapists, and other treatment facilities, and respond to all questions and requests related to admission.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of admissions, discharges, and client information in compliance with confidentiality, privacy regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide support and guidance to clients and their families throughout the admissions process.
- Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and training.
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.
Education Requirements:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Degree from accredited college or university in a related field of study.
License Requirements:
- Preferred: Valid CDCA, QMHS, and/or CPI Certification
- CPR Certification required, will train upon hire.
- Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, be 21 years or older, and be deemed insurable through Team Recovery's insurance carrier.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Behavioral Health and SUD treatment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in office technologies such as Google & Microsoft.
- Working knowledge in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) required.
- Familiarity with addiction & mental health complications and a compassionate approach to communicating with clients & families.
