Salary - USD $99,840 to $114,816
Position summary
The Certified Hand Therapist provides specialized occupational or physical therapy services focused on upper extremity and hand rehabilitation for patients across the lifespan. This role delivers patient-centered, evidence-based care, coordinating closely with orthopedic and rehabilitation teams to optimize functional outcomes and independence.
Key responsibilities

Evaluate patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity conditions and develop individualized plans of care based on functional goals.

Implement, assess, and modify treatment interventions, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, splinting/orthoses, and modalities to restore function and manage pain.

Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, precautions, and injury prevention strategies.

Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional, payer, and regulatory standards.

Track patient progress using standardized outcome measures and adjust care plans as needed.

Communicate effectively with physicians, surgeons, clinical staff, and leadership to coordinate comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.

Support efficient care delivery with attention to treatment costs, billing practices, and appropriate resource utilization.
Required qualifications & skills

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy program.

Current unrestricted Colorado license as an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist.

Current Hand Therapy Certification (CHT), demonstrating advanced expertise in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.

Current BLS/BCLS certification.

Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience in upper extremity or orthopedic rehabilitation.

Strong clinical judgment, documentation proficiency, and patient education skills.
