Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide advanced nursing care as a Registered Nurse in a surgical stepdown unit specializing in post-operative and high-acuity patients. This 13-week contract role focuses on patient assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care, supporting recovery from trauma and surgical interventions while working nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-op and high-acuity patients, including those requiring cardiac drips and BiPAP support
- Manage patient care coordination in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize critical thinking and time management skills to assess, plan, and evaluate patient progress
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards and facility policies
- Float to related departments as needed, managing patient loads of 1:3 or 1:4
- Adhere to facility dress code with designated black scrubs representing the surgical stepdown unit
Qualifications:
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Minimum of 2 years of stepdown or ICU nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on cardiac and respiratory patient care
- Positive attitude, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork orientation

Additional Details:
- Shift: Nights (1900-0730), weekend rotation approximately every other weekend
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified at application)
